Grid 13×13 carte blanche grid
Preamble Clues are given in their normal order. In completing the grid solvers should enter certain squares (arranged in an appropriate way) as suggested by the only song (in the British Book of Hit Singles) by the artists spelt out by corrections to misprints in the definitions of some clues. The subject of this song could occupy one position in the grid (both "implied words" are in Chambers) but, in the final diagram, this position is occupied by somebody "new" (one word not in Chambers, one person in Collins).
Solvers should use the letters common to both implied words as well as the letter given in the title for a hint as to how to differentiate the person in question. The new person's surname should then be used to complete the title.
One answer is an abbreviation. Punctuation may mislead.
